Amano, who runs the secondhand book market "BOOK DAY Toyama," says, "Military skills are an essential item for secondhand bookstores." He himself runs a second-hand bookstore called "Secondhand Book Irufu" in Namekawa City, Toyama Prefecture.
"Used bookstores are surprisingly hard work. It's a must-have for military personnel who need to transport heavy books or sort used books in warehouses. Hoping to give you a taste of that second-hand bookstore vibe, we decided to create original workpieces as novelty items for the event." says Amano. Classic novelties like towels and eco bags are great, but it would be nice to have some help.
BOOK DAY Toyama
Toyama's representative second-hand book fair will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2023. Two events are held regularly: "BOOK DAY Toyama," a large-scale event held once a year that brings together second-hand bookstores from all over the country, and "BOOK DAY Toyama Station," which brings together second-hand bookstores from the prefecture every other month.
